SHAPE - Giving form to objects, stories and experiences
This years' Midwest conference was another huge success and we would like to thank Kohler and all of our speakers for making it possible. Shape brought together a range of world class speakers including John Barratt of Teague, Scott Wilson, and Christian Trifilio of Worrell to help us explore and discuss how the shape theme relates to our field and work. In addition, we also invited professionals like Kat Street of the advertising company Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Megan McGinley and Max Erdenberger of the new media company Brand New School to enlighten us on how their respective fields shape their work.
2007 also marked the inaugural launch of The Midwest Honors award which celebrates an outstanding Professional and Educator from our district. This juried award was sponsored by Herman Miller this year and we are pleased to announce that it was given to Scott Wilson and Dale Fahnstrom from the Institute of Design.
We are extremely excited to announce next year’s district conference will be held in Kansas City. Our team has already started working on next years event and we believe that this up and coming city that is the home to outstanding design and leading edge architecture is the perfect home for next years conference. I hope to see you all there…
